Video of the Week: PAC-MAN HIGHWAY: Level One by NotWorkingFilms

Whodathunk Pac-Man’s view of the game was so creepy? I thought it was kinda like the original Tron, ya know? That’s what the game made it look like. With that in mind, it’s no wonder Pac-Man ate all those pills. Lonely road, middle of the night, with ghosts flying at you? Jeez.

Cameos are popular again. Everyone wants to make cameos for wedding invitations and wall hangings featuring the kids. Sure, they look cute and rather Victorian, but what happens when you put a spin on the average cameo?

You get the approx. 352 piece gallery called Paper Cuts by Olly Moss, shown at Gallery 1988 in LA a couple months ago. The set contains cameos of pop culture icons including Jack Skeleton, Boba Fett and Pee Wee Herman. I love that every piece has an ornamental frame that fits with the subject either beautifully or ironically and some pieces have extra adornments, like the broken glass on John McClane piece (my favorite). I wish I could have seen the gallery in its entirety, but there’s a wonderful Flickr set you can look at to see a lot of the pieces. I hope you enjoy it all as much as I do!

Illustrator of the Week: Mister Hipp

There’s something about the style. And the colors. And the technique…oh, heck, I’ll just cut to the chase: Mister Hipp is definitely my favorite illustrator right now.

Video of the Week: Adidas “Celebrate Originality” Star Wars Cantina ad

Daft Punk, Snoop Dog, Jay Baruchel, Noel Gallagher (Oasis) and more star in this remake of the cantina scene from Star Wars for Adidas.

(The best part…by far…is “You play for a Galaxy far, far away.” Beautiful reference!)

We’ve heard a lot of stories of caped crusaders fighting in wars around the world…but what if those stories were real? Photographer Agan Harahap took photos of our favorite comic book heroes in old time war environments.

I’m a trivia nerd, so my score for the Famous Objects from Classic Movies game is almost embarrassing (I missed only four out of 70). This hangman-inspired game shows a picture of an object that had a starring role and you have to guess the name of the movie before getting five letters incorrect. It’s a lot of fun. That being said, if you get in trouble at work today it’s not my fault. Do your work, kids!

Remember the typographic Star Wars posters that were floating around a month or so ago? Yeah, these ones by Liam Brazier are so much cooler.

Video of the Week: Tatooine

George Lucas announced plans to release the Star Wars series in 3D. I cursed at James Cameron for putting that silly idea in his head.

And then Eric Power created paper animation of the original trilogy. I cheered.
