Sure, we’ve seen cool quilled paper hearts and letters and splashes…but these odd quilled figures of anatomical cross sections by Lisa Nilsson are probably the coolest of all.

Made in Michigan: House Industry visits The Mitten State’s own French Paper

These pictures of the tour through the incredible French Paper Co. bring back memories of when I toured it in 2008. It was not only educational but a LOT of fun (and they give out some great samples!). Make a point to visit it at least once!

Illustrator of the Week: Tiny Fawn

I’m making sure I post this now, in mid-November, because I think these would make fantastic Christmas decorations if you do a country/rustic themed Christmas. These up on the wall with red ribbon around the corners…fantastic!

These are for sale; the link leads to the artist’s Etsy (they’re only $12 each!)

Using a technique called “quilling”, Yulia Brodskaya has created the most beautiful piece of paper art I’ve ever seen. Sure, you’ve probably seen her work before, but it was on a much smaller scale. She says this method, this amount of work is a labor of love, one that takes a very long time to do. I hope she keeps this up. I liked her other work but this is just spectacular.

I’ve seen a lot of cut paper this year but I never get sick of them. Cheong-ah Hwang has created some gorgeous layered pieces with incredible depth.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE paper musicians by…well…the creator of the post failed to properly credit the artist! Does anyone know who did these? I’d really like to know!

Anyway, go bask in the awesome of these gorgeous pieces of art at Designer’s Couch.

I have a friend who is a huge Jackie Earle Haley fan, and this year her birthday happened to fall on the day “Nightmare On Elm Street” came out, which Haley stars in…

So I made it a Jackie Earle Haley birthday! This card took me about four to five hours to make (partly because the paper I picked originally for the shaded areas was too dark, so I had to rummage through all of my paper and find one that would work).

Oh, and here’s the original picture for reference.

Loving these pieces from the Paper Cut Project. The paper “wigs” are actually on mannequins in Jeffrey stores in NYC and Atlanta. Pretty cool idea!
