Video of the Week: Punga’s advertisement for FOX Retro
While we’re on the topic of awesome 80s pixelated graphics, how about a nice commercial for FOX’s home for TV shows from decades past?

It’s no secret that watching Tron last year gave me a love for all things 80s. Some of my fashion choices are inspired by it, and my favorite musical artist right now is Com Truise, and Title Scream may be one of my favorite collection websites…ever. I mean, c’mon. A ton of late 80s/early 90s video game title screens? It makes me want to go to the bank, get a couple rolls of quarters, and head to my favorite bar to play Burger Time, Joust, Street Fighter, and of course: Tron.

Video of the Week: PAC-MAN HIGHWAY: Level One by NotWorkingFilms
Whodathunk Pac-Man’s view of the game was so creepy? I thought it was kinda like the original Tron, ya know? That’s what the game made it look like. With that in mind, it’s no wonder Pac-Man ate all those pills. Lonely road, middle of the night, with ghosts flying at you? Jeez.

Illustrator of the Week: Etienne Chaize
For someone who spent the first two years of the 80s-in-the-2000s fashion trend speaking outwardly of how horrible most the fashion and art was, I turned out liking the aesthetics of the neon-and-pixel era an awful lot (I blame science fiction for the change of heart). Etienne Chaize is seriously the best “80s futuristic chrome” artist I’ve ever seen, and it probably has to do with the fact that she steps away from the computer for a good part of her designs (including the coloring!). There’s something to be said for handmade, huh?

If you think these wonderfully-colored geometric pieces of art by Aske are lovely, wait until you learn how it’s all made: cut plywood. That’s right. Each piece is a colored piece of wood, assembled together. I think that really adds to the Awesome Factor.

I can’t get sick of 8 bit illustrations. I can’t. I don’t have it in me to hate them.
When 8-Bit Worlds Collide by Aled Lewis
(Source: BuzzFeed)
I’m a child of the 80s and a nerd. Yeah, I love old video games. Part of the reason I go to one of the local bars is because they have several 80s arcade games for you to play while you’re sipping whiskey (it’s my kind of place, seriously). Imagine my delight upon seeing these pixelated characters of arcade days long gone in real life photographs. It brightened my day. I hope it brightens your Friday (buck up, it’s almost the weekend!).
Prepare to feel ancient, everyone!
What happens when you give grade school children electronic relics from days long gone? What do they think they are? Some of the results are rather hilarious (one kid thought a floppy was a camera).
