As a couple of friends have pointed out, there’s just not enough women recognized in design, even though over half the designers in the US are female. They’re right. Although this can be seen in many lists and charts, there was one publication (I don’t remember the exact one) that listed the 50 best designers alive today…and there was only one woman. I’ve been hearing the rumblings that both men and women are fighting to get these often shadowed designers more coverage. One such website is the one featured above, titled Web Heroines. It’s not up yet, but I would recommend giving it a watch. I’m excited to see what kind of websites we get to see.
